I want to first state how glad I am that I decided to go to my company’s summer party. With everything going on around here I felt it wasn’t a good idea to go out and party. I felt like it was too early. But I think it was just what I needed.
I decided to bring my mom because she didn’t work Thursday and she’s never been to Medieval Times. We got there and there were a few girls from the call center standing around. I briefly talked to them and introduced my mom to them. I’m glad i have the cool mom. I can take her with me and everyone loves her lol.
So we walk in and there is this big bouncy racer thing in the middle of the Hall of Arms. I found more of my coworkers and we hit the open beer and wine bar. We noticed at that point that the line for the food was crazy long so we got in line promptly.
The food was pretty dang good! Different types of salad, carne asada, chicken and fish tacos, different pastry desserts, potatoes and who knows what else! It was great.
After we ate it was time for me to have a smoke. Yeah I know don’t start wit hthe “it’s bad for ya” crap lol.
While I was enjoying the weather, the wine and the eye candy I noticed the music got turned down. They were gonna do raffles!!!
The first name that was called was mine!!! I ran in there and headed in the direction I THOUGHT the giveaways were being done at. With the DJ strobe lights going I couldn’t really see so I was about 5 feet off from the lady passing out the envelopes. I felt kinda lame at that point but it was worth it in the end. I won 4 tickets to the Queen Mary!!!
We were thinking about leaving right before that so it’s a good thing we didn’t leave!..til after the giveaways anyway. My coworkers were all cheering for me too it was so cool! I’ve never worked with people that actually gave a crap about me! Well besides one girl at Hard Rock but she doesn’t even talk to me anymore.
So yes a good night was had and I’m glad I went. I think it was just the release i needed from the tension and madness that’s going on right now.
