Today I finally got the chance to use my new FarView magnification device. It’s basically a portable CCTV that you can point at things from a distance to read as well. I think it’s a great step in low vision aides.
For years I had to ask the people behind the counter at fast food places and coffee shops what was on the menu. Countless questions taking up mucho time and irritating not only the employee who was helping me but the people in line behind me. I don’t have to do that anymore.
I will have a full review this week but I must say to anyone thinking of picking one up or asking their DoR counsellor for one of these, DO IT! This device definitely cuts down the number of things a visually impaired person needs to carry. We all know that’s important as we look at our huge purses or backpacks!
