It’s Fitness Friday and I have to admit something to all of you. I have not been on the wagon for awhile. there’s been a lot going on in my house and the stress has lead me to not eat correctly. The heat has lead me to stop my WiiFit workouts. I’m in severe need of motivation!
So what do you do when you are feeling out if the loop when it comes to exercise?
I’ve started going through podcasts and looking for a really good, motivational, not full of ads podcast to motivate me to get moving.
Not only through the ITunes store, but on BlogTalkRadio as well you can find a number of great podcasts and radio shows that focus on losing weight and getting healthy.
Debra Mazda has a great show on BlogTalkRadio called ShapelyGirl Circle Time. She is SUCH a great motivator! Her shows and her website are just AMAZING!
The reason she is such a motivator for me is because she lived the struggles of weight loss. Debra Mazda once weighed over 300lbs and lost weight through diet and exercise. It’s great to do workouts and listen to podcasts from pro fitness trainers but many of them never lived as an overweight person. How can I believe a person who is 120 lbs and has always been that weight that I CAN lose the weight and get healthy? It’s hard.
Not only are the website and radio show awesome there are ShapelyGirl workout videos! What I like about the DVDs is that she has her group of ShapelyGirls with her doing the workouts. It’s not a bunch of super skinny toned women running around. For me, it is so much more inspiring to see people like me working out and losing the weight.
If you have a hard time with workout DVDs because of your vision impairment I’ve got another great website for you.
No Excuses Workouts has not only a whole workout system you can purchase but also free workouts right on the website. The free workouts come in a PDF format where you can use your screen reader to hear the directions outloud. Or if you use a zoom program you can make it larger. No more pause/start over and over again on a DVD!
the workouts are great and Jonathan Roche is such a motivation! He also had a BlogTalkRadio show No Excuses Weight loss is the name of the show and it’s actually on the FlyLady network!
I’ve known a few visually impaired people who have done the program and loved it! I’ve listened to the show and am really thinking about getting the whole program!
Now it’s your turn. What do you do for your health? Do you have a great website you want to share? Is there a workout that you love doing? Comment here and let me know!
Next week i’ll be testing IPhone apps that can help in fitness and again update my progress!

I totally agree. It’s hard to listen to someone who has always been skinny give advice about weight loss. Anyone who’s lost 50 or 100 pounds is someone I actually want to hear from.
