My name is Amber. I am a 30 year old visually impaired woman living in California. I have had my vision impairment since birth. Basically I was born with underdeveloped optic nerves. Nobody knows why since i wasn’t premature. Doctors say it is a hereditary impairment but we can’t find anyone through both sides of our family that have had the same problem.
Currently I am attending school to become a vocational rehabilitation counselor. My goal is to help other visually impaired people with the goal of obtaining and keeping employment.
This blog is not just about me. It’s about many things that affect those of us with vision impairments today. The topics range from budgeting for a very low income to fitness, accessibility to random stories.
